Friday Sparkle # 20

After saying goodbye to the lovely cream enamelled rose headband at the Vintage Wedding Fair in Harrogate and stocks generally running low,  I’ve started work on some new pieces.  They will be making their debut at The Wedding Event with a Difference, organised by Save the Date on Sunday 16th October.

As I mentioned yesterday, they include lace elements alongside the usual Tattered Rose mix of vintage sparkle, pearls and other delightful treasures!

Here is just a little peek at one of the headbands, more of the collection is to follow...!

The offical photos...

A while back I had the opportunity to take part in a fabulous photo shoot at the Holiday Inn Sheffield organised by Ruth from Sweet Words Stationary.

The shoot was based on a vintage travel theme and it was a great collaboration between some fantastic suppliers.

Styled by Chloe from Adore by Chloe and Emma from, here are some of my favourite photos from the day...

Spot the Tattered Rose satin bow used as a brooch on the dress!
Stunning dresses by Gracie Bleu, amazing hair Styling by Wigs & Warpaint  make up by Jodie Ann Makeup and lovely model Hollie.
All photographed by Anthony Naylor

The inspiration for the shoot from this fabulous range of stationary from Sweet Words Stationary

Vintage china hire from the lovely Darby & Joan Vintage with beautiful cakes by Serendipity Tea Parlour and Danielles Cup Cake Kits Chesterfield
Gorgeous flowers by Boutique Peony

Check out these fabulous ideas for a themed sweetie bar and chalk board.  They make for some great photos and a brilliant talking point for guests! Both are services available from Adore by Chloe.

I'm sure you can see from the photos that we had a great day on this shoot!

A fond farewell...

Last week, at the Vintage Wedding Fair in Harrogate, I had to say goodbye to this lovely piece...

But it’s gone to a great home with a lovely story...

The bride tried on several pieces from the stand but kept going back to this one, it was a little different to what she had in mind but it looked fabulous in her hair.  After talking it over with her friends she had pretty much decided to go for it when one of the ladies with her turned over the page in my portfolio to see this photo, taken on the 60's inspired photo shoot earlier this year.......

It turned out that her dress was the same, high necked lace style and she had also just bought a pair of vintage satin gloves to wear! Cue - much excitement from the ladies involved and that sealed the deal!

I love a happy ending!

The Vintage Wedding Fair Harrogate

This Sunday was the Discover Vintage – ‘Vintage Wedding Fair’ in the lovely town of Harrogate.

Held in the gorgeous St George Hotel, there were two rooms packed with vintage and vintage inspired treasures.

As I thought it was a brilliant day and so lovely to be surrounded by lots of vintage pretties and to catch up with some familiar faces!

It was the busiest fair there to date and the brides that attended loved all of the services and products available.  It was brilliant to see lots of amazing dresses going to and from the changing rooms then being carried around to match up accessories!  It was one particular bride’s mission to sort her whole outfit on the day, and between several stalls, she managed it, leaving as one happy bride to be!

Here are some photos of the Tattered Rose stall from the day...

Showcase part 3

A perfect keepsake, token or decoration for a wedding venue, these rustic hearts and new bell shapes(see the bells at Harrogate on Sunday!) add a beautiful vintage detail to a wedding.

These have proved to be very popular in the past and I now only have a few left!

Hand stamped with vintage inspired imagery and romantic words on soft muted background colours, they are a film favourite for mothers of the bride, bridesmaids and guests to give to the bride (no more sprayed silver plastic horse shoes!)

At my own wedding I was given an array of tokens from gorgeous wooden hearts, painted wooden horse shoes, hand knitted hearts, a decorated wooden spoon and sparkly beaded wire hearts (phew!)

I now treasure them all and smile with the memories each time I catch a glimpse of them hanging somewhere in the house.

Showcase Part 2

Here is one of the latest necklaces in the Tattered Rose collection...

This style has proved to be very popular with brides who choose a simple dress but still want some sparkle.

This gold tone piece would look fabulous with a cream or pale gold colour dress.  It features elements of vintage lace amongst vintage pearls and fabulous engraved buttons.

Also available with matching earrings to tie the whole look together!

Showcase Part 1

Something a little different.............

An ivory satin bow with a beautiful piece of vintage sparkle set in the middle, this piece has quite a 50’s feel.

This clip could not only be worn as a hair accessory but would work equally well as an addition to a dress or handbag.  I'm currently enjoying introducing more ribbon and lace into pieces so watch this space for more of the same!

The Vintage Wedding Fair, Harrogate.

I’m very excited to be exhibiting at the Vintage Wedding Fair in Harrogate on Sunday 18th September.
Organised by Discover Vintage, the Harrogate fair is the big sister of the Leamington Spa event that I attended earlier in the year.  This was the first vintage event that I had exhibited at and it was fabulous!
All of the stalls looked amazing from cakes to dresses and some great venue styling ideas, I was in my element!
So in preparation for this event, over the next week, I’ll be showcasing some of the Tattered Rose pieces that will be on show on Sunday.
